Rise up! Take courage and do it! Ezra 10:4
The time comes when we need to put fear aside and give ourselves permission to take action. Nothing changes without action, but fear of failure, rejection, being different, judgement and so many other things can stop us from taking action. This week, give yourself a permission slip (and maybe someone else too) to make mistakes, be yourself, say no, say yes, be bold, to take nap without guilt, be honest with someone when they ask how you are doing. . . .
Lectio Divina is an ancient method of studying, meditating and listening for God.
We spend so much time talking to God, sometimes it's nice just to sit and listen.
Our goal in providing these recordings is to provide a small glimpse into this practice.
We hope it peaks your interest and you discover coming before God in silence and listening for
His voice is truly faith changing. This is only one simple way to participate in Lectio Divina.
Listening to the scriptures being read is more impactful for me, but make this practice your own.
You may just want to read the scripture and follow the steps. Some do it alone and others in a group.
There are Lectio Divina books, devotionals, podcasts, and many other resources for you to discover online.
We invite you to discover a new way to hear from God. To be still and know.
The scripture will be read three times.
Directions:
The first time the scripture is read simply sit and listen (with your eyes closed or open).
As the verse is read for a second time listen for a word or phrase that stands out to you.
As the verse is read for the 3rd and final time, listen, begin to pray, reflect and open your heart to what God might be saying to you.
After we close in prayer, try to spend 15-30 minutes journaling, listening, or praying.
Just simply being with God in this moment.

2021 is here!
For the month of January, as you go about your day, take time to reflect on the word of the day and capture an image that reminds you of that word. Then look up a scripture to go along with the word. Keep your photos and scriptures in a journal or on your tablet/phone. Ask God what He is trying to show you as the new year begins. Tag us in your photos #sinnerandthesaintpodcast #monthofjoy
For the first 25 days of December, join us in the practice of giving. We often think giving has to with money or time, but it can be so much more. You can give to someone you know or a stranger. You can give in person or anonymously. These are only ideas to keep you going throughout the month, add your own or switch them around. Tag us in your photos #sinnerandthesaintpodcast #monthofgiving.
You Did It! Thank you for joining us for 25 Days of Thankfulness and growing closer to God. We pray that you discovered new ways to grow closer to God, experienced freedom in approaching Him through prayer, music, scripture, art and will continue on in your desire to seek and know Him more intimately as we prepare for a new year.
